Goronong chili pepper (Capsicum chinense): A prized variety from Malaysia, the twisted berries hold a beautiful canary yellow color. They are small, reaching 5 cm, but have thick flesh and, above all, a distinctive flavor. Fruity, citrusy, and very sweet, they resemble peaches. Be careful, they are very hot, at 300,000 Scoville units, so they hit hard. It's important to note, however, that the intense sweetness greatly mitigates the raw power of the capsaicin; it's a good thing they make you want to make a dessert.
In the field the plant is rustic, up to 70 cm tall, medium productive,
easy to grow.
In the kitchen, don't be fooled by the enveloping aroma; use it sparingly.
