Round aubergine from Valencia (Solanum melongena)

Valencian Round Eggplant (Solanum melongena): An ancient variety of round purple eggplant, the oval-shaped, firm, white-fleshed fruits weigh 200 to 400 grams and are a beautiful purple color. This plant is early, hardy, and very productive; it tolerates lower temperatures than other eggplants and is not susceptible to forcing. Harvest the fruits for consumption when they are not too large (less than 15 cm), while ripening the ones intended for seed propagation.
